Description

Documents, applies, and enforces brand identity systems covering color palettes, typography, logo usage, imagery style, and tone of voice. Use when creating a brand guidelines document from scratch, auditing assets for consistency, onboarding a contractor who needs brand standards, or adapting an existing brand to a new channel or format.

What this skill does

  1. 1Checks whether you need to apply existing guidelines or create new ones, then reads product marketing context before making any recommendations.
  2. 2Audits any asset against eight brand dimensions — colors, fonts, logo usage, body text contrast, imagery style, tone, prohibited uses, and co-branding rules.
  3. 3Produces a color system reference with hex, RGB, CMYK, and usage rules; a typography scale with all type roles; and a tone matrix with voice attributes mapped to contexts and example phrases.
  4. 4Outputs a self-contained brand guidelines mini-doc specific enough that a contractor with no prior brand knowledge could produce on-brand work from it alone.

When to use

  • You're onboarding a design agency or contractor and need a concise brand reference they can act on immediately.
  • A new channel (newsletter, TikTok, podcast) is launching and you want brand guidelines adapted to that format.
  • You're reviewing a co-branded piece and need to check logo sizing ratios and color dominance rules.
  • Copy review flagged tone inconsistencies and you need a documented voice matrix to align the team.
